About The Position

This role involves the maintenance and repair of pallets, light company vehicle maintenance, and general facility upkeep. The primary responsibilities include sorting and repairing pallets, managing fleet vehicle servicing, and operating equipment like forklifts. Secondary responsibilities cover a range of facility and grounds maintenance tasks, including cleaning, trash removal, event setup, and snow removal. The position requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team, adhering to safety procedures and company processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) accurately
  • Good interpersonal skills, reading comprehension, and memory retention
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take initiative, Self-Motivated
  • Ability to adhere to defined processes and procedures and suggest improvements
  • Valid Driver License

Nice To Haves

  • Valid CDL P and ability to enter Canada will increase starting rate
  • CDL P a plus

Responsibilities

  • Sorting pallets (Good from Bad)
  • Loading bad pallets onto scrap pallet trailer for disposal
  • Replenishing/Restacking skids in appropriate designated area or Department
  • Repair of all defective pallets, to include cutting planks, using air nail gun, hand tools, in a safe manner
  • In charge of light company vehicle maintenance
  • Scheduling service for entire fleet
  • Communicating with Travel and Events for vehicle scheduling
  • Scheduling services for fleet vehicles with local vendors
  • Operation of a forklift / pallet jack
  • Driving company vehicles
  • Understand and comprehend industrial cleaning practices, supplies, equipment, and the ability to use them efficiently and economically
  • Clean and care for the facility & grounds to ensure safe and healthy maintenance
  • Collect, remove and dispose of trash / recyclables in office buildings and warehouse
  • Operate cardboard compactor
  • Provide event set up and teardown, including moving furniture and modules
  • Assist in performing preventative maintenance in the facility
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking lot as needed
  • Represents Schluter Systems L.P. in a professional, positive and enthusiastic manner in all matters
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • May include covering for the Custodial Staff
