About The Position

The Facilities Operations Technician I assists electricians, plumbers, and carpenters to install and repair electrical, plumbing or other structural repairs at various sites throughout the Cherokee Nation Reservation. The Facilities Operations Technician II assists all trades to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs in mechanical, electrical, grounds, plumbing, or structural repairs. The Facilities Operations Technician III performs extensive preventive maintenance and corrective repairs to mechanical, electrical, grounds, plumbing or structural repairs.

Requirements

  • Facilities Operations Technician I: High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree. Three (3) years of experience in maintenance.
  • Facilities Operations Technician II: One year certificate from a college or technical school or an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of certification. Five (5) years of experience in maintenance.
  • Facilities Operations Technician III: Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree. Five (5) years of maintenance experience.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • Must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.
