About The Position

Wolfspeed is seeking a Facilities Operations Technician to join the Facilities Operations & Maintenance Team at its Durham, NC sites. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining systems that provide uninterrupted services and critical utilities essential for life safety and production. The role ensures facilities are maintained and conditioned to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment, enabling team members to be productive. This position requires shift work, including 12-hour shifts, to provide 24x7 coverage for the production facility, including night shifts. Attendance during adverse weather conditions is also required.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Valid US driver's license.
5 years of related experience in an industrial setting, military experience, or a combination of experience with a technical degree.
Experience using a computerized building management system / SCADA to maintain and troubleshoot facility equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot and effectively resolve complex equipment malfunctions on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, chillers, fire systems, and other facility equipment.
Clear documentation skills (verbal and written).
Ability to work from verbal and written instructions, manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, piping and instrument diagrams, work orders, and specifications.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, at heights, and in confined spaces, around machinery and moving parts.
Ability to perform repetitive motions and pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists.
Ability to stand or walk over hard concrete surfaces and climb ladders.
Lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Monitor and ensure preventive maintenance is completed for HVAC equipment, hydronic systems (including chilled and heating), wastewater systems, compressed air, medium voltage electrical distribution, and various exhaust systems.
Utilize control systems to monitor factory equipment, verify trends, respond to alarms and urgent facility situations, and troubleshoot operational parameters outside of normal ranges.
Start and stop equipment, maintain facility operations through control software, and work with computer software including Microsoft Office suite and SCADA.
Provide support for new equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and sustaining operations.
Work safely, use required personal protective equipment (OSSA/job requirements), observe all safety policies, participate in training, and assist with training less experienced personnel.
