Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience in facilities engineering and a strong foundation in mechanical systems.
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years of experience in facilities engineering and a strong foundation in mechanical systems.
  • Oil-free air systems, HVAC systems, chilled water plants, boilers, environmental abatement systems, or compliance exhaust systems.
  • Large-scale manufacturing/ mechanical engineering facility services support.
  • Identifying, analyzing and solving immediate issues with technical equipment.
  • Experience with mechanical (pumps, piping, valves, and other) and control (instrumentation, PCS and other) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and maintenance of mechanical systems such as oil-free air systems, HVAC systems, chilled water plants, boilers, environmental abatement systems, and compliance exhaust systems.
  • Support daily tactical efforts to meet safety, reliability, and environmental targets for mechanical systems.
  • Design and analyze mechanical systems and equipment, troubleshoot systematic issues, and provide evaluations, recommendations, and solutions to resolve problems.
  • Develop engineering scopes of work for mechanical projects and conduct design reviews to ensure system integrity and performance.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs, while overseeing prototype fabrication and design testing.
  • Partner with internal business units and operations teams to deliver engineering solutions tailored to their specific needs.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance service providers to ensure proper system operation and adherence to specified limits.
  • Develop and implement a mechanical systems roadmap and asset replacement strategy to ensure system reliability, redundancy, and capacity for future expansion, renovation, and growth.
  • Drive the successful commissioning of new mechanical systems, as well as significant modifications to existing systems.
  • Support strategic engineering projects and explore advanced automated solutions to achieve cost savings and increase operational efficiency.
