About The Position

Maintain facility systems and equipment, with a concentration in electrical, HVAC, and automated controls. Keep the building clean and orderly and assist with building maintenance. The position is full-time and located in San Jose, California.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or at least 3 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Considerable knowledge of modern office methods and procedures, business English, spelling and arithmetic, and common office machines and equipment.
• Ability to use good judgment in routine decisions in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with departmental personnel and customers.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lift or move 5–10 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift certification may be required; refer to the training matrix.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the building.
• Perform minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
• Perform routine minor preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment, chillers, process piping, vacuum, and compressed air systems.
• Notify management about the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
• Use a forklift as needed.
• Schedule and remain in contact with janitorial staff.
