About The Position

Perched sixty stories above Lower Manhattan, Manhatta serves seasonal, inspired cooking, and offers stunning views of New York City, its bridges, and waterways. Manhatta is a restaurant and full-service event space from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, combining sky-high views with down-to-earth hospitality. The Facilities Manager is a hands-on leader and systems architect responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and beautiful restaurant environment. This role owns the full spectrum of Repairs & Maintenance and champions house pride, ensuring all spaces reflect our commitment to excellence and hospitality. You bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, balancing long-term planning with real-time problem solving, and lead teams and vendor partners to deliver high quality maintenance and repairs. Most importantly, you inspire accountability, consistency, and care in every space you support.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of facilities, maintenance, or related experience (hospitality or restaurant experience preferred)
  • Working knowledge of general trades (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical, or handyman work)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing people, vendors, or projects with a focus on quality and accountability
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical environments as needed
  • A collaborative, calm, and proactive approach with a passion for supporting great guest experiences
  • Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a culture of Enlightened Hospitality for all stakeholders that supports our business objectives and growth
  • Embody, teach, and inspire USHG Behaviors across the facilities and cleaning teams, leading with integrity and care
  • Directly supervise and develop the Maintenance Supervisor, providing coaching, clear performance expectations, and career growth pathways
  • Lead and develop the facilities and cleaning teams, setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and house pride
  • Develop a facilities team capable of handling painting, carpentry, light plumbing, and general handyman needs with skill and consistency
  • Build and document clear SOPs for all facilities and cleaning functions ensuring that standards are written, trained and transferrable
  • Partner with Home Office facilities team to build, maintain, and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules
  • Oversee day-to-day Repairs & Maintenance, ensuring timely, high-quality execution of both preventive and reactive work
  • Champion a preventive maintenance mindset by identifying issues early and partnering with teams to avoid guest-facing disruptions
  • Manage vendor relationships and projects, ensuring work is completed on time, on budget, and to USHG standards
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs of FOH and BOH spaces to assess conditions, prioritize needs, and maintain exceptional presentation
  • Serve as the primary Facilities partner to the Events GM, supporting the physical readiness for all event spaces before, during, and after every event
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Culinary, and Events teams to support daily service, special events, and overall facility readiness
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain organized documentation, permits, and service records
