About The Position

The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing all capital, maintenance, and facility life cycle management activities relating to the various Authority properties. This role involves working with property operators to ensure compliance with tenant agreements, assisting with capital project planning and management, reviewing expenses and procurement, negotiating contracts, and developing policies and programs applicable to multiple facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree (preference toward engineering degree)
  • 7 years of facility and asset management experience
  • Project management experience
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Knowledge of standard software applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read/interpret drawings and specifications
  • Must be a resident of Allegheny County or be willing to relocate

Responsibilities

  • Oversee management company’s maintenance and facility operations for the David L Lawrence Convention Center, including capital plans and maintenance software.
  • Ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual reports are received and acceptable for the David L Lawrence Convention Center.
  • Ensure compliance with respective Leases regarding maintenance items and inspections for Professional Sports Facilities.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on capital repairs, replacements, and improvements for Professional Sports Facilities.
  • Assist teams with the development of capital plans and life cycle management for Professional Sports Facilities.
  • Verify inspection recommendations are implemented for Professional Sports Facilities.
  • Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of North Shore Riverfront Park, forecasting/managing capital repairs, and preparing capital plans.
  • Develop and manage maintenance activities of third parties, stakeholders, City of Pittsburgh, and various businesses for North Shore Riverfront Park.
  • Oversee management company’s maintenance and facility operations for Parking Facilities and surface parking lots.
  • Hire and manage inspections, evaluate and oversee completion of capital repairs, replacements, and improvements for Parking Facilities.
  • Assist management company with the development of capital plans and maintenance agreements for Parking Facilities.
  • Manage and procure consultants and other third-party service providers for Parking Facilities.
  • Attend Authority Board meetings and briefings, preparing documentation and presenting items.
  • Assist in the development of new projects.
  • Serve as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator and emergency coordinator for the Authority.
  • Keep up to date on best practices and applicable laws affecting facility management.
  • Work with Project Executive in implementation of green and sustainable initiatives.
  • Read, calculate, and monitor monthly utility bills and work with local utility companies.
  • Lead regular facility update meetings with the Executive Team.
  • Manage purchase orders, contracts, and insurance certificates in the SEA accounting system.
  • Review inventory completion at all facilities, including the SEA Office and Public Art.
  • Provide advice and input to other Development Team staff on related projects.
