About The Position

The Facilities Manager supports the day-to-day facilities operations across Sony PlayStation locations in San Diego and Orange County within a fast-paced environment in the video game industry. This role coordinates facilities personnel, engineering services, vendors, financials, maintenance programs, and workplace services to ensure buildings are safe, reliable, well-maintained, and operated to a high standard. The Facilities Manager works closely with Sony PlayStation stakeholders and the Cushman & Wakefield facilities team to deliver responsive service and support the current and future needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Corporate Real Estate, Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of commercial facilities management, campus environment, corporate real estate, and/or property portfolio management experience.
  • Experience with construction, engineering, maintenance, and multiple facets of property operations and building management preferred.
  • Experience coordinating or leading facilities personnel, engineering resources, vendors, and service providers.
  • Experience working directly with clients, business stakeholders, employees, or building occupants in a service-oriented environment.
  • Experience managing vendor contracts, service delivery, proposals, pricing, and performance.
  • Experience with facility financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, purchase orders, invoice management, expense tracking, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with critical systems environments and coordinating business-critical maintenance activities preferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing programs to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs preferred.
  • CMMS/work-order management experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting facility projects, capital improvements, renovations, and equipment lifecycle planning preferred.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM), International Facility Management Association (IFMA), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), or other relevant facilities, engineering, business, or technical certifications preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand construction specifications, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Proficient in understanding management agreements, scopes of work, and contract language.
  • Strong computer and systems knowledge, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, financial tracking, accruals, and variance analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), building infrastructure, maintenance programs, and facility monitoring systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, vendors, projects, and operational issues simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with client stakeholders, facilities personnel, engineers, vendors, landlords, and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned Sony PlayStation facilities, including custodial, life-safety, engineering, site services, and general maintenance, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with Cushman & Wakefield policies and client requirements.
  • Coordinate and provide direction to facilities and engineering personnel supporting assigned locations, ensuring priorities, service expectations, maintenance requirements, and operational needs are clearly communicated and executed.
  • Serve as a key facilities contact for Sony PlayStation stakeholders, responding promptly and professionally to requests and maintaining proactive communication regarding facility operations, maintenance activities, projects, risks, and service needs.
  • Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance programs relating to the interior and exterior condition, appearance, infrastructure, and operation of assigned facilities.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and site walks to identify maintenance needs, operational risks, safety concerns, and opportunities to improve the workplace environment.
  • Manage service contracts and vendor relationships to ensure contracted services are delivered effectively and in accordance with established scope, pricing, performance expectations, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Regularly review vendor performance, service quality, contract requirements, and pricing. Verify invoices against contracted services and approved pricing and address discrepancies as appropriate.
  • Coordinate vendor activities, including scheduling, site access, service delivery, maintenance, repairs, and projects, while minimizing disruption to Sony PlayStation business operations.
  • Respond positively and promptly to requests from client stakeholders and building occupants and ensure facility-related issues are appropriately prioritized, communicated, tracked, and resolved.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to facilities management by identifying recurring issues, operational risks, and facility needs and developing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensure site-specific documentation, records, operating procedures, inspection reports, compliance documentation, vendor records, Certificates of Insurance, drawings, maintenance records, and other required facility documentation are maintained accurately and completed on time.
  • Prepare, review, and provide initial approval as appropriate for budgets, financial reports, contracts, expenditures, purchase orders, invoices, and other financial activities related to assigned facilities.
  • Support preparation of annual operating budgets, quarterly forecasts, accruals, variance reporting, and business plans.
  • Track facility expenditures against budget, identify financial risks or variances, and provide clear explanations and recommendations to facilities leadership.
  • Assist in the development of capital budgets and multi-year facility plans, including equipment lifecycle replacement, deferred maintenance, facility improvements, infrastructure needs, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Collect, analyze, and report facility data, work-order activity, KPIs, vendor performance, and other operational metrics to provide an accurate assessment of facility performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilize CMMS/work-order management systems to ensure service requests and maintenance activities are properly assigned, tracked, updated, and completed within established expectations.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance, shutdowns, repairs, and other activities that may impact building operations or the employee experience, including after-hours or weekend work when required.
  • Maintain awareness of critical building systems and infrastructure and appropriately escalate equipment failures, business interruptions, safety concerns, and other significant operational risks.
  • Support emergency response, incident management, business continuity, and established escalation procedures for facility-related events.
  • Partner with landlords and property management teams regarding base-building services, maintenance, repairs, access, infrastructure, and other property-related matters.
  • Partner with Security, IT, EH&S, Project Management, Workplace, and other Sony PlayStation and Cushman & Wakefield teams to coordinate activities and support business objectives.
  • Support facility projects, renovations, moves, equipment installations, events, and other business initiatives, including planning, vendor coordination, communication, scheduling, and operational readiness.
  • Participate in the hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and development of facilities personnel as applicable. Maintain positive staff relationships and support performance management activities.
  • Ensure vendors and service providers comply with applicable insurance, safety, access, regulatory, and operational requirements.
  • Maintain familiarity with applicable management agreements, contractual requirements, policies, procedures, and client-specific requirements.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, vendor performance, cost management, and the overall workplace experience.
  • Perform other facilities management responsibilities as required to support assigned Sony PlayStation locations and business operations.
