Facilities Manager

FireworksSan Mateo, CA
$150,000 - $170,000

About The Position

Fireworks is seeking a strategic Facilities Manager to lead its global workplace footprint and drive growth into new markets. This role will be responsible for the facilities roadmap, including site strategy, budgeting, and major projects such as buildouts and new office openings. The Facilities Manager will also manage a team of regional office managers who handle day-to-day operations. This position is ideal for an individual with global or multi-site facilities experience who is focused on building scalable systems rather than daily operational tasks.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years in facilities or workplace strategy, with proven experience managing multi-site office portfolio — not limited to a single-location operational role.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling workplace strategy in step with business growth, ideally in a high-growth tech company.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives (office buildouts, relocations, market entries) from planning through delivery.
  • Experience managing a team with coaching, developing, and setting direction for office managers or similar direct reports.
  • Experience negotiating leases, vendor contracts, and master service agreements at a portfolio level.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with global or international office operations, including regional compliance, cultural, and logistical considerations.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and executing campus events and daily activities, in partnership with internal stakeholders, to foster a high-energy, engaged workplace.
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity, translating high-level business/geo strategy into concrete facilities plans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead space planning and site strategy for new office openings, expansions, and consolidations, partnering with Finance, Legal, and executive leadership on lease negotiations, site selection, and capital planning.
  • Manage and mentor a team of office managers across regions, setting standards, providing coaching, and ensuring consistent execution of workplace programs globally.
  • Build and maintain scalable facilities frameworks (playbooks, vendor standards, safety protocols) that regional office managers can execute locally.
  • Ensure all office locations comply with local labor, safety, and building regulations, partnering with Legal and local teams to navigate country-specific requirements as we expand into new markets.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex, cross-regional facilities issues.
  • Develop the facilities budget in partnership with Finance and leadership; manage facility budget and operational costs across all sites.
  • Lead major projects such as office buildouts, relocations, or new market entries end-to-end — planning, budgeting, stakeholder alignment, and delivery.
  • Partner with Office Managers and the People team to shape a workplace experience — for employees and visitors alike — that reflects and reinforces our culture, from day-to-day environment to how we welcome guests and celebrate milestones.
