The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and functional physical work environment. This role involves performing or coordinating maintenance, repair, and upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds, as well as managing daily facility operations.

Requirements

Facility management experience in a manufacturing or property management environment (10+ years).
Forklift/Scissor Lift/Crane Operations certified.
General hand and power tool knowledge and experience.
Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems (5-10 years).
Mechanical skills required.
Communication skills required.
Time management skills required.
Project Management skills required.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Ability to effectively develop and implement change.

Nice To Haves

Basic certifications for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and construction.
At least one advanced certification for plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.

Responsibilities

Conducts regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and compliance issues, and takes appropriate corrective actions.
Ensures HSE guidelines and lock-out/tag-out procedures are followed during maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities.
Ensures on-time closure of HSE CAPA’s.
Performs maintenance for the facility’s HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and other utility systems, coordinating with vendors for specialized knowledge and certification.
Manages exterior site maintenance, including quoting, purchasing, and maintaining equipment/services for parking lots, snow plowing, lawn care, and groundskeeping.
Manages vendor relationships and oversees service level agreements (SLAs) for facility-related services, ensuring work is completed safely, timely, and in accordance with building codes.
Oversees preventative maintenance of equipment and tools, including monthly inspections, and is responsible for record keeping for preventative maintenance, inspections, and calibration of equipment.
Participates in developing annual budget proposals and capital outlay requirements.
Acts as a liaison to public utility, environmental, and energy agencies.
Ensures building security and proper maintenance of security equipment and systems.
Monitors construction and installation progress to ensure compliance with established specifications.
In conjunction with the Site Lead, coordinates building space allocation, layout, and communication services.
Establishes and communicates site-wide best practices for energy usage and environmental sustainability initiatives, such as implementing energy-efficient measures, waste reduction programs, and recycling initiatives.
Ensures the facility follows 5S principles and maintains a clean, organized environment.
Continuously improves preventative and corrective maintenance plans with feedback from the floor and management.
Participates in continuous improvement activities.
Communicates facility changes, updates, and modifications to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner, ensuring effective communication channels are established and maintained.
