About The Position

The Facilities Manager manages the assigned hospital campus and assists with overseeing facilities operations, managing budgets, directing routine maintenance, responding to emergencies, managing risk, managing construction/contractors, and conducting site inspections. The role supports the facilities department's activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the department and organization.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in a job-related field, or a trade license, or Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) certification required.
  • A high school diploma or GED may be substituted with five (5) years of healthcare facilities experience, including three (3) years in a supervisory role.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of healthcare facilities management experience, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory or managerial role.

Responsibilities

  • Supports management of the safety program to reduce risk of injury for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Manages routine maintenance for utilities as required by Joint Commission and AHCA.
  • Evaluates trend analysis on equipment fault times to revise PM schedule, determine level of maintenance needed, and ensure maximum uptime.
  • Manages and evaluates departmental operations, including, service level determination and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Responds to emergencies related to utilities that affect hospital systems.
  • Sources and manages outside vendors and service providers including, but not limited to, maintenance contracts, groundskeeping, facility, and system inspections and certifications.
  • Acts as a project manager scheduling, monitoring, and inspecting work provided by in-house craftsman and outside contractors to ensure work meets appropriate standards.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with The Joint Commission standards, CMS guidelines, AHCA, and local AHJ regulations.
  • Monitors and manages the assignment of work orders in the CMMS and coordinates with stakeholders for access to associated areas.
