About The Position

The Facilities Manager, Data Center Operations role is part of Google’s Technical Infrastructure team, which develops and maintains data centers and the infrastructure that supports Google’s products and platforms. The position leads data center compliance and operations, helps ensure that facilities meet Google’s design and operating standards, and works to improve facility programs, efficiency, and equipment performance. The role also contributes expertise and recommendations to the design of next-generation data centers.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in facilities management, such as technical and team management.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience collaborating with other business units to meet company goals and standards.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment.
Excellent people management and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate at all levels.

Responsibilities

Lead data center compliance activities and analyze global compliance results, ensuring regional and global teams adhere to project schedule guidelines and Google's design standards.
Monitor data center systems operations and control site activities to minimize risk and ensure an effective response to excursions.
Drive efforts to ensure sites follow facility, maintenance, and standard programs globally, and improve those policies and programs.
Develop strategies to minimize operational costs, improve efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and drive site-level programs and initiatives.
Use subject matter expertise to recommend data center design improvements that optimize equipment performance and operations for next-generation data centers.
