FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Safety Sensitive: YES Level II Screening: NO Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, incumbent performs complex level repairs and installations in a specific trade. Assists and/or oversees maintenance of equipment and systems in assigned areas. Incumbent will be expected to have thorough knowledge in the discipline(s) for which they will be responsible. This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities and Reporting During an Emergency Situation: Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice. Non Essential Employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee's Department Head will determine when the employee will be required to work.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED. Experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities can be substituted for the High School diploma or GED.
  • Five years of experience in related field
  • A valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Mandatory Drug/Alcohol Testing required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs skilled to highly skilled trades work in area assigned
  • Performs general maintenance tasks
  • Performs skilled installation and repair/modification, site layout, troubleshooting, diagnostics within assigned trades.
  • Operates various manual and electrical tools in the performance of tasks
  • Under the direction of the designated supervisor, designs and implements preventive maintenance programs to ensure compliance with sanitary and health codes.
  • Clean and repair equipment as needed
  • Participates in on-call duty.
  • May be required to operate a motor vehicle in performance of assigned tasks.
  • This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the employee’s physical presence at the workplace
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Perform renovation, remodeling, demolition and construction work, including carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, roof and gutter repair, and minor electrical and plumbing tasks.
  • Perform space modifications, office reconfigurations, and facility upgrades to meet operational and safety standards.
  • Conduct inspections to assess existing conditions and recommend repair or renovation solutions.
  • Have a working knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) and general construction methods.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Operate and maintain construction tools, equipment, and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and organizational standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and outside service providers as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, labor, and project progress.
  • Respond to facility-related work orders and provide timely resolutions.
  • Support sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives in renovation projects.
