This role involves performing essential duties satisfactorily within a maintenance department in an industrial manufacturing environment. The individual will utilize advanced electrical and basic mechanical skills, manage electrical jobs, and adhere to safety, health, and physical requirements. Requirements

  • Advanced electrical skills including reading electrical power and control schematics, terminating wire per electrical schematics, calculating conduit size and fill, installing conduit and pulling wire, installing lighting and ballast, troubleshooting motors and motor control circuits, using standard electrical meters, megohmmeters, and specialty test equipment, racking breakers in and out of 480V switchgear, stabbing bus plugs and MCC buckets, and performing PM’s of electrical power equipment such as switchgear, MCC’s, bus ducts, and panels.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and Lock Out Tag Out.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Ability to manage small to medium electrical jobs including specifying and purchasing materials, adhering to budgets and schedules, and estimating costs and labor requirements.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, including during operation of stand-up lifts.
  • Ability to lift shoulder high up to 35 lbs. repetitively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion activities including but not limited to assembly, walking, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts.
  • Occasional climbing of steps.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • High School diploma/GED or basic skills assessment required.
  • Basic computer knowledge of MS Office and Outlook, SAP, and Leading to Lean.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medium voltage systems (over 480) is a plus.
  • Work experience within a manufacturing facility is a plus.
  • Associates degree from a 2-year college or 5 years’ related experience and/or training in a facilities environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely in a maintenance department within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Utilize advanced electrical skills including reading schematics, terminating wire, calculating conduit size and fill, installing conduit and pulling wire, installing lighting and ballast, troubleshooting motors and motor control circuits, using electrical meters and test equipment, racking breakers, and performing PMs on electrical power equipment.
  • Work with electrical systems ranging from 24VDC to 480VAC 3-phase.
  • Utilize basic mechanical skills and a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Manage small to medium electrical jobs including specifying and purchasing materials, adhering to budgets and schedules, and estimating costs and labor requirements.
  • Perform energized electrical work when necessary.
  • Operate boom lift and scissor lift.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures.
  • Wear all required PPE and follow safety protocols.
  • Work at heights.
  • Work overtime as assigned.
