About The Position
Facilities Maintenance is responsible for cleaning the interior and exterior production areas of Carris Reels Vermont Operations and helping keep facilities safe, efficient, and ready for tours. The position primarily serves the Rutland Mill and West Rutland Assembly facility, with support for Plastics, Tin/Bolts, and R&D locations as needed. The role may also be assigned to production when needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Valid driver's license.
- Self-motivation and the ability to inspire other team members.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate work across departments and buildings.
- Ability to plan ahead, solve problems, and apply analytical skills and mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and implement improvements.
- Ability to build constructive and effective relationships and take a proactive approach to people, production, and business needs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, meet daily commitments, gather and analyze information for timely decisions, and manage multiple priorities while adapting to change.
- Computer skills and some proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting or moving items over 75 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Clean production areas, equipment, dust collection pipes, lights, walls, windows, and other interior and exterior surfaces.
- Remove snow.
- Perform light carpentry and sheetrock repairs.
- Paint interior and exterior areas.
- Assist with routine preventative maintenance on equipment, machines, and plant facilities.
- Read and interpret work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Comply with OSHA safety and health rules and the Carris Reels safety program.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Work with production when assigned.
- Perform other duties as required.
