About The Position

Rite of Passage is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Worker for the Miami Youth Academy in Miami, Florida. The academy is a moderate-risk residential commitment program for male youth ages 14 to 18, providing comprehensive care, treatment, supervision, evidence-based substance abuse services, and individual, family, and group counseling. The Maintenance Worker helps create a positive, safe, and supportive environment for the youth served. The role pays $21.00 per hour and requires at least 40 hours per week on a designated schedule, with the possibility of schedule variation and overtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Prior building maintenance experience is preferred; examples include general building maintenance, minor electrical work, painting, door hardware, minor plumbing, and drains.
• Valid state driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
• Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, and TB test.
• Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week on a designated schedule, with the possibility of a varied schedule and overtime.
