About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of HVAC test rigs and lab infrastructure. This role involves maintaining chillers, AHUs, cooling towers, pumps, compressors, and piping systems to ensure high uptime of lab utilities such as chilled water, hot water, and compressed air. The technician will be responsible for quickly responding to breakdowns and restoring operations with minimal impact to testing schedules. Additionally, the role includes troubleshooting electrical panels, PLC systems, VFDs, instrumentation, and power distribution systems, supporting safe operation of medium and low voltage electrical systems, and performing electrical fault diagnosis. Compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures is essential. The technician will also maintain refrigeration circuits, valves, heat exchangers, and hydronic systems, and support the installation, commissioning, and modification of test setups. Reading and interpreting P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and system schematics is required. The role also involves supporting calibration of sensors and instrumentation, working with vendors, and ensuring instrumentation accuracy and compliance. Collaboration with test engineers and supervisors is key to ensuring readiness of test setups and supporting test execution. The technician will also lead and support hazard analysis, safe work practices, and ensure compliance with OSHA, AHRI, and internal safety standards. Maintaining documentation, writing standard work instructions, tracking equipment uptime, performing root cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement are also part of the responsibilities. Coordination with external vendors and supporting procurement of spare parts are also included.
