About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all buildings, equipment, and grounds. This role performs preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and basic custodial tasks to ensure a clean, functional, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and the community. Positions employed at St. Joseph Catholic Church help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED acceptable to Texas Education Agency.
Two (2) years of related full experience.
Experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC or carpentry.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
Troubleshoot and resolve facility issues in a timely and professional manner.
Complete safety and functionality inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems.
Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of fixtures, furniture, and appliances.
Execute preventive maintenance schedules on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Document all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs accurately.
Maintain cleanliness and order in maintenance areas, storage rooms, and mechanical spaces.
Support groundskeeping tasks, including lawn care, trimming, snow/ice removal (if applicable), and general outdoor upkeep.
Assist with event setup, teardown, and facility needs as required.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and organizational policies.
Report hazards, safety concerns, and major maintenance needs promptly.
Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.
