About The Position

We’re looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician, which is based at our Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. In this role, you will be a part of the team who maintains the overall workings of the hotel property, ensuring the facilities are clean and in good operating condition. You will provide reliability, dependability and a positive attitude in a diverse environment as you support multiple departments; ensuring the safest and most enjoyable experience for our guests and team members alike.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of facilities maintenance, construction, or repair experience in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Valid driver’s license for operation of a motor vehicle with a clean driving record. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) of the last three years will be requested.
  • Forklift driver certification required within six months of employment.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check, that will include a credit check.
  • Will become part of our randomized drug screening pool.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America Line/Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and control systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoots, tests, and evaluates system performance; maintains facilities, structures, and equipment including plumbing, electrical systems (low- and line-voltage), door hardware, fire and life safety systems, sprinklers, sensors, lighting, and related hardware/software.
  • Conducts structural safety inspections and supports the construction and maintenance of indoor and outdoor facility assets.
  • Maintains induction and air handling units; cleans and inspects all equipment, completes filter changes, lubricates, maintains and services mechanical and refrigeration and/or cooling systems.
  • Performs service and preventative maintenance on small, motorized equipment engines and carts; troubleshoots equipment problems and identifies when appropriate for external service provider to make repairs or perform warranty work.
  • Responds to emergencies to ensure that all facilities are protected and remain operational.
  • Assists with tasks required in preparing to open and close lodges for winter operations, including winterization and snow and ice removal, systems and equipment checks and start-up operations as assigned.
  • Perform on call and caretaker shifts.
  • Responsible for paper and electronic recordkeeping related to preventative and corrective maintenance and repairs.
  • Assists management to determine training needs for seasonal team and assists in the training of staff in facilities maintenance trades.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
