About The Position

Monroe Harding is seeking a skilled and self-directed Facilities Technician to maintain its properties, ensuring the safety and stability of young people in foster care and transitional housing. This full-scope role involves electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, vehicle maintenance, and groundskeeping. The technician will manage their work order queue, conduct property inspections, coordinate vendors, and ensure all safety systems are up to standard. This position is essential in ensuring that the facilities reflect the respect and value Monroe Harding has for every individual who enters their doors.

Requirements

  • 1+ years hands-on maintenance experience across multiple trades
  • Ability to manage your own priorities independently
  • Good communication skills
  • Comfort working in an environment serving youth who’ve experienced trauma
  • Valid Tennessee Driver’s License
  • Must pass a thorough background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Handle daily work orders across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
  • Inspect and maintain buildings, grounds, equipment, and agency vehicles
  • Coordinate outside vendors and community partners when jobs go beyond in-house scope
  • Keep fire, safety, and security systems compliant and operational
  • Maintain outdoor areas and handle general custodial needs as required
