About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports warehouse, inventory, and facility maintenance activities at Western 102 Power Station and Solar Plant. This role receives, stores, tracks, and distributes parts, tools, and materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting the plant Maintenance team. The Technician also performs routine janitorial responsibilities, building upkeep and general facility repairs, helping maintain organized warehouse operations and safe, functional plant facilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum two years of warehouse, storeroom, or inventory experience, including receiving, storage, inventory control, shipping, and distribution of parts and materials.
  • Experience maintaining accurate inventory records, performing cycle counts and physical inventories, and managing stock levels, material movements, and inventory transactions.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipment for routine repairs and facility upkeep.
  • Forklift experience with the ability to obtain and maintain required forklift certification.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize warehouse, inventory, facility, and maintenance needs.
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant technical training, industrial experience, or military experience is preferred.
  • SAP experience is strongly preferred; experience with CMMS platforms such as Tractian or MP2, ERP systems, or similar systems supporting inventory, materials, purchasing, or maintenance activities is also beneficial.
  • Experience with Wärtsilä equipment or parts, or within power generation, is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with general facility or industrial maintenance, including basic plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC support, and routine repairs, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, store, organize, and distribute spare parts, consumables, tools, safety equipment, janitorial supplies, and other plant materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, perform cycle counts and physical inventories, and help ensure appropriate stock levels of critical parts, consumables, and janitorial supplies.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments, including loading, unloading, staging, and movement of materials throughout the facility.
  • Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to support inventory transactions, material requests, receiving, work orders, and equipment records.
  • Operate forklifts, trucks, vans, and other material-handling equipment safely and in accordance with site requirements.
  • Run local errands and pick up parts, materials, supplies, and other items as needed to support plant operations and maintenance activities.
  • Perform routine facility maintenance and repairs, including minor plumbing, leak repairs, painting, carpentry, doors and hardware, lighting, and other general building maintenance.
  • Inspect facility buildings and systems to identify maintenance needs, deterioration, leaks, damage, or other conditions requiring repair or corrective action.
  • Support the upkeep and basic maintenance of HVAC and other building systems, coordinating with qualified contractors or technicians when specialized repairs are required.
  • Assist Maintenance personnel by staging parts and tools, preparing materials, performing basic repairs, and providing hands-on support as directed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, routine work orders, inspections, and general upkeep of buildings, warehouse areas, offices, shops, and other plant facilities.
  • Clean and paint equipment, parts, components, and other plant items as directed.
  • Coordinate vendors and contractors supporting facility repairs, HVAC services, building maintenance, and other assigned work.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed facility and maintenance activities through CMMS, work orders, checklists, and other plant systems.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and safe warehouse, shop, and facility areas while identifying and correcting housekeeping or safety concerns.
  • Perform basic janitorial duties, including mopping, floor care, vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning, trash removal, and cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, locker rooms, break rooms, offices, and the control room.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and general housekeeping of plant areas, including the shop, compressor room, and switchgear room.
  • Maintain plant grounds and landscaping, including weed control and upkeep of drip irrigation systems.
  • Follow and support plant EHS/EMS requirements, regulatory procedures, established work rules, and safety practices, including proper use of PPE, tools, chemicals, and material-handling equipment.
  • Support facility readiness for planned maintenance, outages, inspections, emergencies, and other operational needs.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by plant management.
