About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional facility through a combination of custodial services and general building maintenance. This role supports daily operations by performing routine cleaning, seasonal tasks, and basic repairs while promptly addressing facility issues to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in facilities, maintenance, custodial, or building operations preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems a plus
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to safely handle tools, equipment, and cleaning chemicals

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of interior and exterior building areas
  • Move, receive, and organize supplies, equipment, and stock as needed
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks including changing light bulbs, hanging lights, replacing fixtures, and minor electrical troubleshooting (non-licensed)
  • Respond to building issues such as clogged drains, door hardware adjustments, and minor wall or ceiling repairs
  • Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including snow shoveling, ice melt application, and debris removal
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and cleaning equipment
  • Monitor building systems and report larger repair needs or safety hazards
  • Maintain organized, properly stocked maintenance and cleaning areas
  • Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies
  • Provide professional, courteous interaction with staff and visitors
