About The Position

This position encompasses both indoor and outdoor responsibilities focused on maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of grounds and facilities. Under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Technician, Senior, performs a variety of routine grounds maintenance work for the Fairgrounds and its properties including building and grounds custodial duties, cleaning, planting, spray, fertilize, prune, irrigate and maintain lawns, plants, trees, shrubs and landscaped areas; and other grounds maintenance projects. Assist with prep work for event shows and renters.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school and one year experience maintaining grass, trees, shrubs, and operating related equipment.
• Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in building construction, general maintenance, maintaining grass, trees, shrubs and operating related equipment including at least one (1) year landscape and irrigation.
• Valid State driver's license required.
• Must obtain a fork-lift license and agriculture pesticide applicator license.

Nice To Haves

• Other licenses such as CDL, CPR and First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities
