Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician Status: Nonexempt, Full-Time (hourly) Reports To: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor Starting Compensation Pay: $20/hr Purpose: The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repair activities on Caritas facilities to ensure the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of agency programs. This position works under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and supports the upkeep, functionality, and appearance of agency properties. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Building and construction methods, materials, and repair techniques.
Mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and repair procedures.
HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, and carpentry principles.
Administrative and office procedures.
Computer hardware, software, and electronic systems.
Design concepts, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Engineering and technology applications.
Customer service principles and practices.
Public safety and workplace security practices.
Mathematics and measurement principles.
Production, quality control, and processing methods.
English language, grammar, reading, and writing proficiency.
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of related maintenance experience. Equivalent education or other relevant experience may be considered.
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new information, use critical thinking and sound judgment, read and comprehend work-related documents, perform mathematical calculations, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and understand and communicate in English.
Ability to actively listen, adapt learning strategies, and convey information clearly to a variety of audiences.
Ability to coordinate activities with others, provide excellent customer service, maintain positive working relationships, demonstrate social awareness, and effectively instruct or assist others when necessary.
Must be able to work collaboratively within a team environment and support agency staff and stakeholders professionally.

Ability to evaluate system performance and recommend improvements when necessary.
Ability to manage materials, equipment, facilities, and time effectively to ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and within established timelines.
Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repair techniques, equipment selection, installation procedures, quality control processes, operational monitoring, and facility systems maintenance.
Ability to diagnose and repair issues involving electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and building systems.
Must display a willingness to adopt trauma-informed interventions, principles, and practices and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development in trauma-informed care.
Recognizes the impact of trauma on individuals, families, staff, and communities and applies trauma-informed principles in all interactions and service delivery.
Proficient Computer Skills In: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, database management software

Experience working in facility maintenance, building operations, construction, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance on agency buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair facility systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and related building components.
Complete work orders and identify maintenance issues to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and well maintained.
Assist with inspections, maintenance projects, and vendor or contractor activities related to building systems and equipment.
Operate tools, machinery, vehicles, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance activities.
Travel to various agency locations to perform maintenance work and support facility operations.
Perform grounds maintenance activities, including landscaping, snow removal, and exterior building upkeep as needed.
Respond to on-call maintenance requests and facility emergencies in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with staff, vendors, contractors, and supervisors while maintaining positive working relationships.
Work independently and collaboratively to support agency facilities and operational needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
