About The Position

This role performs a wide range of maintenance duties to ensure the safe, efficient operation of facility buildings and equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting facilities to identify issues, assessing repair needs, and developing appropriate maintenance plans. The technician responds to emergency maintenance situations with timely assessments and corrective actions, and completes assigned work orders with professionalism and attention to detail. This includes performing a wide range of general maintenance tasks across building systems, such as repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, installations, troubleshooting, and overall upkeep. The role also supports facility improvement efforts through projects related to space utilization, renovations, and appearance, including painting, minor construction, assembling or modifying workspaces, and moving furniture and equipment. Additionally, the technician is responsible for grounds and facilities care across multiple properties, including lawn and landscape maintenance, snow removal, and operating company vehicles and equipment. A key responsibility is the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of dental and related medical equipment, including mobile dental units. The technician works closely with the Safety Team to ensure facilities are safe, compliant, and hazard-free, conducting routine inspections and taking corrective actions. The role also involves purchasing necessary materials and goods, operating company vehicles, and providing 24-hour on-call availability for emergencies and snow removal operations. Extensive travel between facilities is required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Chauffeur’s Driver’s License required.
Must maintain a “cleared” status with the MVR to meet GLBHC’s standards for driving company vehicles.
Two (2) years’ experience in building maintenance, facilities, skilled trades and/or equivalent.
Strong problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse patient/staff population.
Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for an entire workday.

24-hour on-call availability required for emergencies and snow removal operations.
Must maintain regular and timely attendance.
Extensive travel between GLBHC facilities.
Company vehicle assigned as applicable.
Mileage and travel reimbursement according to GLBHC travel policy.

Completes assigned work orders, performing general maintenance tasks across building systems (repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, installations, troubleshooting, upkeep).
Maintains accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities using the designated work order system.
Adheres to all safety and risk management policies, operates tools and equipment safely, and participates in required training.
Supports facility improvement efforts by completing projects related to space utilization, renovations, and appearance (painting, minor construction, furniture/equipment moving and installation).
Configures meeting rooms according to specific location needs.
Works as a team member with other staff for setup, configuration, and support.
Responsible for the care and maintenance of grounds and facilities across multiple properties.
Performs lawn and landscape maintenance using commercial equipment (mowing, trimming, edging, weed control, seasonal cleanups).
Develops and manages schedules for lawn care and snow removal across 30+ locations.
Operates company vehicles and equipment for winter services (plowing, salting, manual snow removal), working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Assists in evaluating repair needs and contributing to budget planning for facility maintenance and improvements.
Maintains grounds and landscaping equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.
Conducts basic inspections of equipment to identify issues and coordinates repairs or replacements.
Ensures all equipment is properly stored, maintained, and ready for use.
Safely operates and pulls an enclosed trailer to transport equipment and materials between sites.
Responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of dental and related medical equipment across all facilities, including mobile dental units.
Serves as a technician for dental equipment care, performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
Services dental chairs, delivery systems, suction units, sterilization equipment (autoclaves, Statim units), and other associated technologies.
Ensures all equipment meets required performance and compliance standards.
Schedules and completes preventive maintenance for dental equipment.
Addresses facility-related repair needs as assigned.
Coordinates with internal staff and external vendors for specialized support when necessary.
Works in close collaboration with the Safety Team to ensure all facilities are maintained in a safe, compliant, and hazard-free condition.
Conducts routine inspections, identifies potential safety risks, and takes prompt corrective action.
Supports the implementation of safety programs, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Assists in maintaining a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
Purchases materials and goods required to complete assigned work orders and facility requisitions in accordance with procurement guidelines.
Ensures all purchases are properly documented and accurately entered into finance software.
Operates assigned company vehicles, including mobile dental and medical vehicles, in the process of completing assigned work tasks.
Performs other duties as assigned.
