About The Position

Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on production equipment and tools in a just-in-time environment. Perform scheduled, preventative and emergency technician tasks and projects as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or their designee. This role ensures product manufacturing runs smoothly without significant interruptions and works closely with Regulatory Compliance regarding food safety. The technician will read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service, comply with safety regulations, and maintain clean and orderly work areas. They will also follow health and safety practices and perform appropriate housekeeping tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At minimum, five years’ experience in food manufacturing.
  • Must have a good understanding of plant equipment and processes.
  • Must have a strong background in facility warehouse maintenance.
  • Must have good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency.
  • Should have proficient computer skills.
  • Must be willing to work all shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on production equipment and tools in a just-in-time environment.
  • Perform scheduled, preventative and emergency technician tasks and projects as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or their designee.
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Performs maintenance inspections and repairs for the distribution facility as needed.
  • Immediate repair of any facility equipment as needed.
  • Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
  • Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for chemical handling.
  • Assists in planned and unplanned downtime projects, shutdowns, and emergency work.
  • Participates in internal and external audits or inspections.
  • Ensure product manufacturing runs smoothly without significant interruptions.
  • Work closely with Regulatory Compliance regarding food safety.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Follow health and safety practices as they apply to area of work and the facility.
  • Perform appropriate housekeeping tasks as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
