About The Position

This role involves performing mid to expert level break-fix and preventative maintenance on various devices and systems. The technician will be responsible for observing devices, dismantling them to access and remove defective parts, examining parts for imperfections, adjusting functional parts, repairing or replacing defective parts, testing devices, and performing tests on electrical circuitry and mechanical systems. Additionally, the role may involve reconditioning and repairing machine tools, setting up and operating machining operations, and performing welding tasks. The technician will also be involved in continuous improvement activities, updating records, troubleshooting control systems, utilizing predictive maintenance technologies, and assisting lower-level technicians. Training and self-study are encouraged for career development, and adherence to all safety policies is mandatory.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • Associates degree with a Technical focus and 3 years of related experience in general industry; or 5 years of related experience in general industry or successful completion of the ATS Technician Progression Program.
  • Understands HVAC, utility, electrical, and plumbing systems. Can analyze problems and perform repairs.
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • EPA Universal Certification highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs mid to expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance, including observing devices, dismantling, examining parts, adjusting functional parts, repairing/replacing defective parts, testing devices, and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems.
  • Reconditions and repairs machine tools.
  • Identifies and sources parts, supplies, and repair items.
  • Independently performs maintenance as per industry standards.
  • May be required to set up and operate multiple machining operations (lathe, drill press, grinder, etc.) to make and repair parts.
  • May perform welding tasks.
  • Complies with 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Drives and participates in CI activities (processes, results, cost savings).
  • Updates records and reviews CMMS history.
  • Troubleshoots and analyzes control systems to resolve software/hardware and configuration problems.
  • Utilizes predictive maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data.
  • Provides assistance to lower level technicians and leadership to small teams.
  • Performs more advanced functions as part of training and development.
  • Completes on-the-job and technical self-study programs for career development.
  • Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines.
  • Maintains situational awareness and identifies unsafe behaviors and conditions.
