About The Position

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Maintenance Technician (CMT) to join our team. This role performs inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, and minor repairs across multiple commercial facilities. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, solid troubleshooting skills, and takes pride in delivering safe, high-quality work. This position is primarily field-based and may support multiple customer sites. You’ll play a key role in keeping our buildings operating efficiently, maintaining compliance, and providing excellent service to our clients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on facility maintenance or building systems experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with computers or tablets for work order and CMMS documentation.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe).
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver professional customer service.
  • Willingness to work after hours, weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
  • Identify and troubleshoot operational issues with pumps, motors, lighting, safety systems, and other equipment.
  • Conduct inspections of critical systems and recommend repairs to improve reliability.
  • Maintain building grounds and exterior lighting; assist with irrigation and general upkeep.
  • Escort vendors and inspectors, ensuring safety and site security procedures are followed.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work to ensure it meets scope, quality, and schedule expectations.
  • Complete general facility repairs, such as doors, ceiling tiles, flooring, and basic carpentry.
  • Maintain accurate work order and service documentation in the CMMS.
  • Support energy-efficiency initiatives and assist in optimizing system performance.
  • Adhere to company and regulatory safety standards at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with facility managers, tenants, and team members.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies when required.
