About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Tech is responsible for a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the building and its systems are functioning properly and safely. This role involves hands-on work in plumbing, HVAC, general building maintenance, safety hazard mitigation, painting, and fire system checks. The position requires problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a willingness to learn and obtain necessary certifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two (2) year associate degree in Maintenance Technologies.
  • 1-3 years of practical experience in maintenance.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to discuss specific examples of work experience prioritizing multiple tasks with limited resources while working with partial information in a stressful work environment.
  • Must obtain LOTO certification once in position.
  • Must obtain forklift license once in position.
  • Must obtain scissor lift license once in position.
  • Must obtain FM Global Hot Work Permit System certification once in position.
  • Must obtain Red-Tag System certification once in position.

Responsibilities

  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing and installing new water lines.
  • Maintaining building HVAC equipment, including changing filters and fixing drains.
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as roof inspections and repairs.
  • Fixing potential safety hazards inside and outside the facility, including parking and drive surfaces, and checking/repairing doors.
  • Painting the building, walls, posts, and floors.
  • Performing routine maintenance and assisting other facility techs with major repairs.
  • Performing routine audits and checks on fire system equipment, maintaining logs, and participating in audits.
  • Assisting in environmental clean-up and directing outside contractors.
  • Performing hot work permits and auditing working areas.
  • Performing other tasks assigned by facility leadership.
