About The Position
The Facilities Maintenance Tech is responsible for a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the building and its systems are functioning properly and safely. This role involves hands-on work in plumbing, HVAC, general building maintenance, safety hazard mitigation, painting, and fire system checks. The position requires problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a willingness to learn and obtain necessary certifications.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Two (2) year associate degree in Maintenance Technologies.
- 1-3 years of practical experience in maintenance.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to discuss specific examples of work experience prioritizing multiple tasks with limited resources while working with partial information in a stressful work environment.
- Must obtain LOTO certification once in position.
- Must obtain forklift license once in position.
- Must obtain scissor lift license once in position.
- Must obtain FM Global Hot Work Permit System certification once in position.
- Must obtain Red-Tag System certification once in position.
Responsibilities
- Repairing broken or leaking plumbing and installing new water lines.
- Maintaining building HVAC equipment, including changing filters and fixing drains.
- Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as roof inspections and repairs.
- Fixing potential safety hazards inside and outside the facility, including parking and drive surfaces, and checking/repairing doors.
- Painting the building, walls, posts, and floors.
- Performing routine maintenance and assisting other facility techs with major repairs.
- Performing routine audits and checks on fire system equipment, maintaining logs, and participating in audits.
- Assisting in environmental clean-up and directing outside contractors.
- Performing hot work permits and auditing working areas.
- Performing other tasks assigned by facility leadership.
