About The Position

Manage and lead hourly represented facilities maintenance personnel with a focus on plumbing and pipefitting trades. This position may require leading other organizational teams of diverse disciplines in the maintenance and repair of facility infrastructure systems and components. Responsibilities include: Domestic and process water plumbing systems, fire water systems, steam and boilers, high tension power, domestic, process, and gas utility piping distribution systems, HVAC, chiller plant, and control systems, compressed air systems, overhead cranes & doors, building automation systems, and general facility maintenance. Ensure appropriate application of all elements of the UAW-LMC Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Application of LMS Facility Risk Management principles & Risk Plans. Customer engagement. Responsible for subordinate safety performance. Develop work assignments & desired results and direct workforce & assesses their individual performance. Must ensure all maintenance operations comply with federal, state, & local environmental regulations and LMS ESH. Facilitate routine staff & safety meetings with assigned crew. Lead and-or support LMC internal audits and any state or federal audit or assessments. Manage subcontractors in the operation & maintenance of infrastructure systems to ensure they provide the services for which they've been contracted. Develop work priorities, meet maintenance work schedules, execute job plans, and operate to dept. budget requirements. Participate in Facility Infrastructure Condition Assessments and energy reduction events. Lead and-or participate in hiring employees and working with them to develop personal & departmental development training plans. Attend & provide usable information for construction project design reviews and scope definition exercises. Responsible for & perform all administrative tasks relative to staff timekeeping, training, & coordinating medical examination schedules.

Requirements

  • Construction or facilities related experience
  • Plumbing, piping, and steam related experience
  • Must be able to work independently and support operational requirements for any/all shifts in support of facility operations
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays when needed
  • Developing labor & material cost estimates for major maintenance projects & planned utility outages and work within departmental budgetary requirements
  • Must have proven experience within 2 of the following trades: Electrical, Plumbing, Millwright, Machine Repair, HVAC-R, Boiler Operations
  • Possess skills Utilizing Full Spectrum Leadership
  • Familiar with CMMS
  • Must be able to attain and maintain a DOD/TS/SCI Program security clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Master plumber or Journeyman plumber
  • Experience leading facility infrastructure projects involving multiple disciplines
  • Experience working with a collective bargaining agreement
  • Experience providing leadership and oversight of contracted workforces
