About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising facilities maintenance and Carpentry activities. Supervises workers and inmates. Performs maintenance and repair of all city property. Performs preventive maintenance on city property. Assists other departments with maintenance work. Maintains and expands job knowledge, skills, and abilities. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge of OSHA Safety Rules
Knowledge of Southern Building Codes
Knowledge of management and supervisory techniques
Knowledge of department policies and procedures
Knowledge of accepted personnel practices, procedures, and policies, including supervision and training
Skill in interpersonal relations
Skill in oral and written communication
Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions and to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years experience or service
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
This position is required to supervise state inmate labor
Employee must pass the Department of Corrections three-day certification within the time frame required by this department which is normally six months but may be altered
