About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist I is a second-shift position responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of plumbing, heating, and electrical systems and fixtures. This role also involves knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work, and understanding precautions to safeguard property and equipment. The position requires the ability to follow directions, adhere to college policies and procedures, and maintain established work schedules and safety guidelines. Sufficient physical strength is needed for various manual tasks in building and equipment care and maintenance.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Two years of experience with cleaning buildings.
Two years of experience with snow removal, including the operation of cleaning and snow removal equipment.

Nice To Haves

Driver’s license required.
Ability to operate custodial equipment and snow removal equipment.
Ability to operate and become certified as a forklift operator.
Ability to understand and adhere to college policies, procedures, and safety guidelines within the performance of job duties.
