About The Position

Fluidstack is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Safety Manager to join their Supply Chain Team. This role is crucial for ensuring the company can deliver 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else by managing critical aspects of safety and environmental compliance. The company emphasizes extreme ownership, velocity, first principles, and a passion for the problem space of AI infrastructure. The Supply Chain Team is focused on supplying 10GW of compute, making supply chain a driver of build speed, and building accurate supply chain prediction modeling using AI. The Facilities & Maintenance Safety Manager will own end-to-end hazardous waste compliance (EPA and RCRA), manage the GHS and HazCom program, oversee hazardous chemical quantities, lead the Job Hazard Analysis program, coordinate spill prevention and emergency response (SPCC and EPCRA), manage the safety and hazmat program budget, and oversee environmental and safety technicians. Requirements

  • Managed RCRA hazardous waste compliance end to end, including manifests, generator status, accumulation area management, and disposal vendor audits.
  • Built or run a GHS and HazCom program, including new chemical approval workflows and employee right-to-know training.
  • Managed Maximum Allowable Quantities of hazardous chemicals under IFC/NFPA 400 and worked directly with an Authority Having Jurisdiction or county fire and air authority on control area design and permits.
  • Managed and developed environmental or safety technicians, or owned the disposal-vendor and consultant relationships and budget for a hazmat program.
  • Owned a Job Hazard Analysis program across multiple job classifications, including audits that caught real gaps, not just paperwork completion.
  • Coordinated SPCC or EPCRA spill response plans, run drills, and kept a trained response team ready.
  • Maintain a compliance calendar with zero missed regulatory deadlines, not a tracker you catch up on after the fact.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  • OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) experience.
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) credential.
  • Air permit record-keeping or emissions reporting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own EPA and RCRA hazardous waste compliance end to end: manifests, generator status (LQG/SQG), and accumulation area management under 40 CFR Part 262, plus licensed disposal vendor audits.
  • Administer the GHS and HazCom program and SDS library, and manage Maximum Allowable Quantities of hazardous chemicals per IFC/NFPA 400, coordinating with the Authority Having Jurisdiction and the Maricopa County fire and air authorities on control areas, permits, and inspections.
  • Own the facility-wide Job Hazard Analysis program: set standards for completion, review cycles, and sign-off across all job classifications, and audit for quality.
  • Coordinate SPCC and EPCRA spill prevention and emergency response, lead drills, maintain a trained spill response team, and keep the master environmental compliance calendar at zero missed deadlines.
  • Own the facilities safety and hazmat program budget and the disposal and consultant vendor relationships, and manage and develop the environmental and safety technicians assigned to the program.
