Visit sahuaritaaz.gov and tucsonaz.gov to learn more.   Description Performs duties related to general building construction including but not limited to plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, painting, masonry, hydro-blasting, welding, fabrications, HVAC, Information Systems and other assigned activities.

Requirements

One (1) year of experience in the crafts of welder, boilermaker, machinist, plumber or carpenter
Proficient in welding/cutting
Ability to multi-task
Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
Employee will be required to work in environments which may include exposure to extreme temperatures and humidity
Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms
Occasionally may be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the work day
Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.

Responsibilities

Work with and support various site departments, such as crushing and conveying, mill, moly processing, mine and hydrometallurgical
Assist with and perform routine maintenance activities such as lubrication and mechanical preventive maintenance on heavy equipment, process equipment, conveying systems and HVAC systems
Assist with and perform non-routine maintenance activities such as maintaining roadways, building maintenance, troubleshooting, environmental activities, and emergency shutdown repairs in various departments
Operate various equipment such as front-end loaders, motor graders, forklifts, excavators, compaction equipment, overhead and mobile cranes, skid-steer loaders, twenty-five (25) ton dump trucks, backhoes, water trucks, street sweeper, vacuum trucks, rubber tire and track dozers, man lifts and fuel trucks
Work with various building materials such as hardware, finishing materials, fixtures and various structural elements
May assist with and perform duties related to ordering and receiving materials
Perform other duties as required
