Requirements
- Minimum High School diploma or GED required.
- At least 2 years relevant work experience.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good interpersonal skills, Office computer skills including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and other basic computer programs
- Ability to work compressed work week (12-hour shifts)
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
Nice To Haves
- Experience with PVC piping, pumps, valves, hand and power tools is a plus
Responsibilities
- Repair, maintenance, and installation of all equipment and building systems.
- Preventative maintenance on all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, high purity water system, industrial wastewater treatment systems as well as building and grounds.
- Daily rounds and readings, taking water samples, basic to intermediate preventative and non-preventative maintenance procedures on fans, motors, blowers, chillers, boilers, pumps, vessels, valves, control systems, and other unit operations.
- Basic to intermediate level troubleshooting on facilities systems and make repairs, as necessary.
- Access the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to obtain work orders as well as entering maintenance/repair information.
- Interface regularly with the Engineering staff, other Facilities Technicians, and Vendors.
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and non-preventative maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Dismantles equipment to gain access to and repairs or replaces defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
