About The Position

This position is for Transition Academy students only and is a work-based learning opportunity. The Facilities Maintenance Associate will assist the A New Leaf facilities maintenance department to ensure all A New Leaf properties are maintained in accordance with company policy and state/federal compliance regulations. This role allows students to practice skills learned in prerequisite and core classes, exploring career opportunities in facilities maintenance.

  • Maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Must pass a criminal arrest check through the OSBI.
  • Must pass a Community Services Registry check through DDSD, Department of Human Services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the facilities maintenance department in ensuring that New Leaf, Inc. facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.
  • Perform routine building maintenance checks to ensure there are no damaged or broken equipment.
  • Sanitize equipment and building amenities.
  • Assemble, repair, maintain, and move furniture (desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, related fittings and fixtures).
  • May perform some carpentry, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
  • Learn about contract HVAC.
  • Learn how to review and complete electronic maintenance requests.
  • Complete an application and interview the manager of the assigned work-based learning site.
