About The Position

Pivotal is a leader in the emerging market of electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft, designing, developing, and manufacturing light eVTOL aircraft. They are known for the BlackFly aircraft, the world's first light eVTOL to fly manned missions and enter the consumer market. Their aircraft are efficient, compact, and simple, designed for a wide range of consumer, public service, and defense applications, utilizing a distinctive tilt-aircraft architecture and scalable platform that has been flying for over 10 years. Pivotal announced their next-generation aircraft, the Helix, which is progressing toward general release and scalable production in early 2026. This role will provide Operations and Maintenance support to Facilities, equipment, buildings, and grounds. The Facilities Maintenance Associate will utilize technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills while working with the entire Facilities Operations and Maintenance department, performing general, preventive, and emergency maintenance duties as needed and assigned. This position is ideal for someone early in their facilities career looking to make an immediate impact at a fast-growing tech company.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in a hands-on maintenance role
  • Clean driving record
  • Keen judgment, ability to make sound independent decisions and know when to escalate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to multitask and reprioritize work orders, using best judgment
  • Proven ability to notice the small thing and demonstrate an attention to detail
  • Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills
  • Must have demonstrable critical thinking skills
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Highly collaborative and team oriented
  • High level of proficiency with a variety of hand tools
  • High school diploma
  • Applicants must be eligible for employment in the United States and willing to work onsite at our HQ office in Palo Alto, CA

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and experience with general facility maintenance tasks
  • Maintain a safe, well-organized and well-stocked work environment
  • Perform routine facility system inspections and assist in facility maintenance tasks
  • Build desks and other office and lab furniture
  • Perform weekly inventory counts on facility supplies, snacks, drinks and office supplies
  • Manage min/max stocking counts
  • Ensure first aid boxes and office supply cabinets are kept stocked
  • Be an active team member of the Emergency Response, EH&S, and Security Awareness teams
  • Interact and escort vendors for onsite service calls/repairs
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend evolutions
  • Be a champion of Pivotal’s distinctive company culture
  • Move trailers between various sites
