About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Assistant II to join their team in Winston Salem, NC. This entry-level position specializes in DCR (Drain, Clean, and Refill) of CNC Machines to remove and recycle coolant, clean the machine of metal chips, and refill with coolant. It also involves changing machine filters and other duties assigned to keep machines running at their optimum. Technicians are responsible for providing an entry level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on the production equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment. Perform all aspects of preventive and corrective maintenance on all production related industrial systems as instructed, including, but not limited to: CNC machinery, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, and coolant systems. Works alongside other skilled technicians. Effectively communicates with the site maintenance management team, solves basic and intermediate electrical and mechanical problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing problems. The Maintenance Assistant Technician identifies any safety-related issues and corrects or escalates them as appropriate.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • 1 – 3 Years of work experience preferred performing general maintenance repair in an industrial environment or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to perform Geometric checks and adjustments on CNC machines.

Responsibilities

  • Performance of preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Respond to and provide service and feedback to management on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Understand company policies and enforce safety regulations.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tag out procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Prepare/complete assigned tasks in conformance with applicable procedure requirements provided by the supervisor.
  • Coordinates work with others in discipline groups and other discipline groups on the project.
  • Responsible for neatness and accuracy of work.
  • May train other technicians.
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to less experienced personnel.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by management.
  • Maintain good Attendance, Punctuality, and work ethic.
