Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate electric and battery powered cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, burnishes, scrubbers, and extractors.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to perform basic math computations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work independently and be organized, flexible, and adaptable to high and low workloads.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-culture environment, understands the social and cultural context of the patients at the didgʷálič Wellness Center.
  • Understands the role of trauma, historical, community, family, and personal experience in wellness and recovery.
  • Understands and adheres to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (HIPAA and 42 CFR part 2).
  • Effective communication; written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other related programs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five years of direct trade experience in all aspects of construction.
  • Related experience required.
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl in awkward spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time and occasionally move up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs minor repairs on various pieces of equipment such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, routing wall patching and painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
  • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Plans repair work using building blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
  • Inspects and cleans outside air conditioning units, heating and air conditioning vents and grates in the offices and hallways.
  • Replaces air conditioning filters.
  • Inspects and repairs all interior and exterior lighting on a regular basis.
  • Maintains and monitors sewer including all accompanying support systems.
  • Maintains inventory of necessary parts, cleaning supplies, and other materials needed to perform job duties.
  • Keeps the entire facility including the parking lots and sidewalks clean and orderly by performing landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming, blowing and pressure washing as needed.
  • During inclement weather keeps sidewalks and parking areas clear of snow and ice.
  • Assists with and/or performs office furniture moves and furniture re-arranging as necessary.
  • Assists with the setup and the cleanup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
  • Keeps accurate and up-to-date records pertaining to repairs and cleaning schedules, and reports status of maintenance and the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems to Facilities Director.
  • Removes trash and debris, transports trash and debris properly protected.
  • Maintains safe working environment following all OSHA and WISHA regulations.
  • Conducts routine surveillance of the interior building spaces and takes appropriate action to prevent violation of didgwalic Wellness Center safety policies.
  • Assists the EVS team with collection of refuse, bio-medical waste, recycling, confidential papers, etc., and disposes them according to Wellness Center safety policies and DOT regulations.
  • Assists the EVS team with cleaning patient, staff, and common areas using the appropriate cleaning solutions and the established cleaning procedures and protocols.
  • Adheres to OSHA regulations by wearing personal protective equipment (goggles, gloves, etc.).
  • Maintains in depth knowledge of all chemical usage and dilutions, ensuring full compliance with federal and state safety regulations.
  • Maintains all MSDS documentation as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director.
