Position Summary: A Facilities Carpenter and Maintenance Worker is responsible for the construction, repair, and upkeep of buildings and infrastructure within a facility and seasonal tasks such as snow and ice management. This role combines skilled carpentry work with general maintenance duties to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years of previous construction and/or carpentry experience
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance duties utilizing basic hand/powered tools and powered equipment
  • Ability to determine and select the appropriate tools and equipment needed to complete a task
  • Proven technical/mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, especially their design, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Previous experience operating equipment and vehicles with a strong safety-oriented focus
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Ability to use and effectively navigate ERP program, time clock, and company intranet
  • Proven ability to use manuals to determine equipment operation and maintenance
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Manage time to effectively meet company priorities
  • Driver’s license
  • Ability to:
  • Balance and carry 50 lbs. up and down a ladder
  • Work bent over for extended periods of time
  • Climb, balance and work safely at elevated heights
  • Work outside in all weather conditions
  • Passport or work authorization requirement to work in the US

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience leading a small construction team to complete projects timely
  • Drywall experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintains organization on the jobsite and communicates materials/equipment needs to Facilities Manager
  • Effectively directs a small team to stay on task and complete project timelines
  • Study specifications in blueprints, engineering sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required to complete new construction projects from beginning to end
  • Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines or power saws
  • Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment
  • Installs structures or fixtures, such as windows, doors, frames, floorings, trim, or hardware using hand or power tools
  • Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures
  • Installs metal siding and trim
  • Inspects and installs various types of flooring
  • Inspects ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures
  • Assembles and fastens material together to construct wood or metal framework of structure, using hand tools, bolts, nails, screws or glue
  • Maintains the physical condition of buildings as needed
  • Removes debris, litter, and snow/ice from walkways, parking areas, and entrances to ensure safety and accessibility
  • Other duties as assigned
