About The Position

Reporting to the Wellness Center & Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for the management of facility services and processes that support Palmer Home for Children. The position is responsible for ensuring the organization has a suitable living and working environment for the children and staff. The Facilities Lead is expected to work fully within the philosophy, goals and operating procedures of Palmer Home for Children, demonstrating exemplary Christian character, administrative competency and human relations skills.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years facilities and operations experience or related field experience
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Willingness to work outside in inclement weather conditions
Ability to accomplish general maintenance work, home repairs, landscaping or any other duties involved in maintaining the function, appearance, and safety of the campus
Experience working with emergency management, emergency preparedness, and safety regulations
General understanding of A/C, HVAC units
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organization and planning skills
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Must be in agreement with the Palmer Home for Children Statement of Christian Beliefs and demonstrate a strong commitment to Christ consistent with the mission of Palmer Home status as a non-profit religious organization.

Responsibilities

Work with Wellness Center & Facilities Manager to implement all facilities maintenance, both scheduled and unscheduled.
Assist in sourcing and overseeing outside maintenance contractors, including being on-the-ground point of contact for service vendors.
Ensure all buildings comply with health and safety regulations.
Oversee essential services such as security, maintenance, and grounds.
Responsible for addressing and responding to facility emergency situations.
Demonstrate proficiency in using an online maintenance and facilities management platform (eSPACE) to track work orders, maintenance requests, projects, and facility needs.
Ensure campus vehicles are regularly serviced and safe to drive.
Maintain the campus grounds and overall appearance of the property, ensuring outdoor areas are clean, well maintained, safe, and visually appealing to residents, staff, and visitors.
Ensure campus safety, security and emergency evacuation plans are in place and conduct necessary training.
Responsible for maintaining all campus equipment.
Oversee cattle plan and care of animals on campus.
Assist Children’s Programs in monitoring the safety, cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of transitional homes, including yards and exterior areas, and communicate maintenance needs to supervisor for timely resolution.
Assist the Children’s Program Manager as needed with the Hope Works Program for children ages 12-17 by offering opportunities and/or overseeing specific projects.
Supervise the work efforts of volunteer groups as assigned.
Any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
