About The Position

The Facilities Janitorial Associate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment within Building Bridges' managed facilities. This role includes cleaning tasks, waste removal, and upkeep to ensure all common areas, restrooms, offices, and event spaces meet high standards of hygiene and presentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and bending.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe usage practices.
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness, safety, and a welcoming environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions independently.
  • Supportive of Building Bridges Across the River’s mission promoting equity and community development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal throughout the facility.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, and ensure all fixtures are in good working order.
  • Maintain cleanliness in kitchens, break rooms, and other common areas.
  • Assist with set up and break down of furniture and equipment for events when needed.
  • Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Facilities Supervisor and/or Operations Manager promptly.
  • Follow all safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Support the facilities team in achieving a safe and hygienic environment for staff, visitors, and program participants.
