This role involves performing repairs, maintenance, restoration, and replacement of various components of a building’s infrastructure. The Facilities Handyman will also assist Critical Facilities Operating Engineers as a co-pilot in completing building operations, maintenance, and repairs, and assist in writing procedures including EOPs, SOPs, and MOPs. This is a site-based role and the client requires vaccinations for on-site attendance.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Ability to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads.
  • Ability to work in close places such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc. and on roofs.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to prepare written documentation.
  • Ability to repair locks, locking mechanisms, closers doors, controllers.
  • On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
  • Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Lifting up to 60 lbs.
  • Working from heights.
  • Frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead.
  • Working in adverse conditions (i.e., extreme cold, extreme hot).
  • Driving for long periods of time.
  • Climbing a ladder up to 30 feet.
  • Being able to sit and type for longer periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, maintenance, restoration, and replacement of various components of a building’s infrastructure.
  • Assist Critical Facilities Operating Engineers as a co-pilot in completing building operations, maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist in writing procedures including EOPs, SOPs, and MOPs.
  • Service and maintain and complete documentation for fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, building alarm contacts, and other building systems.
  • Maintain and repair single phase electrical breakers, switches, receptacles, junction boxes, conduit, lights, and ballast.
  • Maintain and repair plumbing components including toilets, urinals, lavatories, flush valves, water fountains, sinks drains, water heaters, piping and sump pumps.
  • Provide all other building maintenance, repair, and restorative procedures as directed.
  • Prepare, prime and paint building interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Assist Mission Critical Technicians as a co-pilot in completing building operations, maintenance and repairs.
