About The Position

The Facilities Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the outdoor areas of the facility. This role includes tasks such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, planting and caring for gardens, and performing seasonal duties like snow removal. The ideal candidate will be proactive, dependable, and possess a strong work ethic.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment (mowers, snowplows, trimmers, etc.).
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and snow.
  • Class E Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Mow and trim lawns regularly to maintain a neat and tidy appearance. Ensure proper lawn care, including fertilization and pest control as needed.
  • Operate snowplows, snow blowers, and shovels to clear snow and ice from parking lots, walkways, and other outdoor areas during winter months.
  • Maintain flower beds, shrubs, trees, and other plantings by watering, weeding, pruning, and fertilizing. Install and remove seasonal plants as required.
  • Remove debris, leaves, and trash from outdoor spaces. Ensure the facility grounds are always clean and safe.
  • Inspect and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper functioning, making repairs as necessary.
  • Ensure that all outdoor areas are free of hazards and comply with facility safety standards.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment, including mowers, snowplows, and other landscaping tools.
  • Prepare the grounds for different seasons, including fall leaf cleanup, spring planting, and winter snow management.
  • Report any safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or significant landscaping issues to the facility management team.
