About The Position

The Facilities Grounds Supervisor is responsible for supervising FGW1, FGW2, Lead Facilities Grounds Workers. This position is responsible for ensuring facility operations are occurring in a proactive and productive environment with a customer service focus. The individual Facilities Grounds Supervisor is responsible for all elements of supervisory duties. These include hiring, disciplinary actions, providing access to training, support for process improvement, etc.

Requirements

  • Current resident of the State of Wisconsin
  • HS Diploma/GED equivalent.
  • A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License; must be maintained during incumbency is required.
  • A valid Wisconsin Commercial License (CDL) Class B with air brake endorsement and maintained during incumbency is required.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in building and grounds maintenance, which must have included at least three (3) years of supervisory experience in staff coverage scheduling and workload management is required.
  • The ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs and push/pull up to 150lbs on a regular basis.
  • Willing to work on any assigned shift and be on call for emergency situations
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Dayforce payroll system
  • Basic knowledge of LMS Leaning and development system
  • Passing of required training set forth by Facilities Management is required within six-month probationary period.
  • Must be able to work in all Milwaukee County facilities including secured detention/high-security facilities and work in areas with sensitive information and assets
  • Applicants must successfully undergo a criminal history background check to establish security clearance for Milwaukee County facilities and maintain this clearance throughout employment

Responsibilities

  • Provide feedback to manager and customer regarding customer-oriented problems or challenges.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure customer needs are being met.
  • Ensure the facilities are kept in a safe, clean and occupiable condition.
  • Create shift schedules based on available staff for all three shifts.
  • Allocate work to staff members based on priority and staff availability.
  • Plan for anticipated snow/cold weather emergencies.
  • Arrange necessary equipment.
  • Under direct or indirect supervision of the manager, work with vendors/contractors to perform operational and maintenance services.
  • Purchase tools, materials and safety equipment for staff and projects.
  • Solicit quotes and produce requisition documentation.
  • Support the efforts of all DAS team members and their projects within FMD facilities.
  • Support trades staff work efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned
