About The Position

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance of grounds, equipment, and facilities. Assists in maintaining the appearance, site security, and general oversight of the landfill and compost sites, including mowing, weed cutting, minor landscaping, pressure washing, fence, gate, and sign repairs, painting, minor carpentry work, and collecting windblown trash and large items as needed. Assists in cleaning water recycling systems; inspects sprinkler functionality and makes repairs and/or reports malfunctions to appropriate personnel. Communicates effectively with employees in the work group and department. Follows safety policies and procedures. Attends safety meetings and training events. Performs related duties as assigned. Performs general maintenance work and inspections, including carpentry, electrical work, painting, plastering, minor plumbing, HVAC, facility systems, septic systems, equipment, and buildings, as needed. Coordinates with outside vendors as needed for maintenance assistance. Clears debris using power blowers or pressure washers to clean facility areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Minimum of two years of grounds maintenance or related facilities maintenance experience.
