About The Position

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance of grounds, equipment, and facilities. This role assists in maintaining the appearance, site security, and general oversight of the landfill and compost sites. Responsibilities include mowing, weed cutting, minor landscaping, pressure washing, fence, gate, and sign repairs, painting, minor carpentry work, and collecting windblown trash and large items as needed. The technician will also assist in cleaning water recycling systems, inspect sprinkler functionality, and make repairs or report malfunctions. Effective communication with colleagues and adherence to safety policies and procedures are essential. The role involves performing general maintenance work and inspections, including carpentry, electrical work, painting, plastering, minor plumbing, HVAC, facility systems, septic systems, equipment, and buildings, as needed. Coordination with outside vendors for maintenance assistance and clearing debris using power blowers or pressure washers are also key duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Minimum of two years of grounds maintenance or related facilities maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists in cleaning water recycling systems; inspects sprinkler functionality and makes repairs and/or reports malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
• Communicates effectively with employees in the work group and department.
• Follows safety policies and procedures.
• Attends safety meetings and training events.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
• Performs general maintenance work and inspections, including carpentry, electrical work, painting, plastering, minor plumbing, HVAC, facility systems, septic systems, equipment, and buildings, as needed.
• Coordinates with outside vendors as needed for maintenance assistance.
• Clears debris using power blowers or pressure washers to clean facility areas.
