About The Position

The Facilities Field Technician maintains restaurants through preventative maintenance on all aspects of the restaurant. The role supports restaurant facilities across the market by conducting maintenance visits, repairing equipment and buildings, developing preventive maintenance schedules, and helping restaurant teams maintain safe and effective facilities. The technician also coordinates with operations, development, landlords, contractors, and vendors, and communicates facility conditions, issues, and project needs to facilities leadership.

Requirements

Strong trade knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, commercial cooking equipment, appliance repair, and basic HVAC/refrigeration.
Knowledge of rules and regulations governing facilities safety requirements.
Ability to manage and coordinate multiple schedules while planning work to achieve timely results.
Ability to communicate and train facility maintenance and repair concepts effectively, clearly, and patiently.
Clean Motor Vehicle Report to travel between restaurants.
Responsibility for meeting safe driving requirements determined by law.
B.A./B.S. in a related field, or equivalent education and experience, with two years of formal or informal training in facility repair and maintenance.

Experience with restaurant equipment, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, or appliance repair is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Facilities Manager by supervising facility aspects of restaurant management at the market level.
Perform facility maintenance and repairs through monthly site visits and restaurant analysis.
Formulate preventative maintenance schedules for restaurant facilities, including cooking equipment, HVAC systems, sinks, plumbing, electrical circuits, and refrigeration units.
Carry out established procedures when facilities stop functioning, function improperly, or threaten employee or customer health and safety.
Train managers, crew, and other restaurant staff to manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facilities; assess individual training needs.
Ensure restaurant staff correctly and consistently follow facility maintenance practices and procedures.
Conduct detailed facility maintenance and repair seminars individually or in groups.
Provide the Operations Team and Regional Facility Manager with comprehensive maintenance visit recaps describing restaurant strengths and facility improvement opportunities.
Identify issues that contribute to higher maintenance and repair or capital reinvestment costs and communicate them to the Regional Facilities Manager, Field Controller, and Operations Team.
Guide restaurants on maintaining and updating facility records.
Perform equipment and building repairs during emergencies and scheduled site visits.
Conduct new-store turnover, 90-day, and one-year walks and punch lists with contractors and the Operations Team.
Liaise among restaurants, landlords, contractors, and vendors as needed to repair facilities.
Assist the Operations Team in investigating and analyzing facilities issues and determining whether to escalate them to the Regional Facilities Manager.
Represent facilities at operations management meetings and communicate information back to the Apprentice Facilities Manager and Regional Facilities Manager.
Provide field support and communication to the Development Department regarding Wynkoop and regional or market initiatives and needs.
Assist with communicating contractor deficiencies on reinvestment or repair projects.
Follow Development Department guidelines.
Complete other duties as needed to advance a project or resolve a business issue.
