About The Position

The Facilities & Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager provides strategic and hands‑on leadership for facility operations, infrastructure reliability, and EHS compliance across multiple medical device manufacturing and office facilities. This role ensures that all buildings, utilities, and work environments support safe, compliant, and efficient operations while meeting federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements applicable to the medical device industry. The position partners closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain leadership to embed a strong safety culture, maintain regulatory readiness, and support business continuity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Environmental Science, Safety, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Facilities and/or EHS, preferably in medical device, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience managing multi‑site facilities operations and external vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a manufacturing environment with regulatory oversight.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, PE, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting FDA‑regulated manufacturing or ISO‑based quality systems.
  • Capital project management experience spanning multiple buildings or campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, security, and utilities across multiple facilities.
  • Manage budgetary spend for all Burlington, Ma & Billerica Facilities.
  • Manage external vendors and service providers for facilities maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Plan and execute capital projects, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades aligned with operational needs and budgets.
  • Ensure facilities support manufacturing, warehousing, laboratories, and office functions in a regulated environment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local regulations.
  • Lead site safety programs, incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action implementation.
  • Manage hazardous materials, waste handling, environmental permits, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Conduct periodic safety audits, inspections, and emergency preparedness drills.
  • Partner with Quality and Operations to support FDA‑regulated manufacturing environments and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections, audits, and external agency interactions related to facilities and EHS.
  • Provide clear escalation of facility or safety risks to executive leadership as required.
  • Develop and track KPIs related to safety performance, compliance, and facilities reliability.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and standardization across all sites.
  • Train and coach employees and contractors on safety procedures, facility protocols, and emergency response requirements.
