Role Synopsis We are seeking a highly motivated engineering leader with a growth mindset to lead Facilities Engineering and related project management activities across the Haynesville asset. This role drives strategic initiatives focused on process safety, production reliability, emissions reduction, asset integrity, operational efficiency, and facility performance. Based in Houston and reporting to the Haynesville Engineering Manager, this leader partners with Production, Maintenance, Commissioning, Development, Midstream, and Field Leadership to deliver integrated engineering solutions, manage risk, and improve asset performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, Civil, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, or similar industrial operations.
  • Facilities engineering, production operations support, reliability engineering, project management, or asset integrity experience.
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of gas gathering, production facilities, and upstream operations.
  • Experience managing brownfield capital projects from concept through execution.
  • Proven ability to influence across functions, lead change, improve processes, and deliver measurable operating results.
  • Ability to lead virtual and geographically dispersed teams using collaborative tools and outcome-focused metrics.
  • Ability to spend approximately 25% of time in the field supporting safety leadership, operational engagement, and project execution.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills across engineering, operations, maintenance, and commercial teams.
  • Self-starter who embraces innovation, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for Facilities Engineering across Haynesville, including process safety, commissioning, reliability, production optimization, surface defect elimination, asset integrity, and brownfield capital projects.
  • Lead engineering solutions that improve uptime, production efficiency, operating reliability, and long-term asset performance.
  • Support the process safety program through MOC, HAZOPs, risk assessments, design reviews, procedure development, and barrier management.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for rapid-response engineering support, facility modifications, optimization projects, and brownfield execution from concept through startup.
  • Integrate engineering, field operations, maintenance, procurement, construction, and third-party contractors to safely deliver projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and improve engineering workflows, project management frameworks, defect elimination, reliability, integrity, emissions reduction, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and cost performance for facilities engineering, brownfield capital projects, and reliability initiatives.
  • Partner with Development, Midstream, Construction, and Operations to provide facility design input aligned with asset strategy and operating objectives.
  • Lead or support incident investigations, root cause failure analyses, corrective action management, and organizational learning.
  • Build team capability through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and technical development.
  • Provide visible safety leadership through field engagement, operational risk management, and active participation in technical networks and communities of practice.
  • Follow BPX/BP's Engineering Principles, Code of Conduct, and Values and Behaviors.
